Yuletide!
Here is my Yuletide letter! I will add to this if anything comes up, but much of it is my usual Yuletide letter, if you are a friend who has matched with me (hey, it could happen).
Thank you for writing for me! If you like these fandoms, we must at least have something in common, right?
In case you're wondering about what I like in general, this is basically what I stick on every Yuletide letter:
Here are some things I like: Humor, drama, snark, romance, smiling in the face of absurdity. (You can probably tell from my requests.)
Here are some things I don't like: Character bashing/needless sideswipes at characters, noncon. I read some dubcon but am weirdly fussy about it, so if you don't already know me it'd probably be easiest not to write it.
I am agnostic about porn: if you want to write it, great! If you don't want to write it, great! I have indicated pairings in my requests where I have them but I like gen too. (In fact, Yuletide is one of my favorite places to get my gen fic.) Porn preferences lean toward m/m.
I love friendship, found families, and all the fandoms I nominated.
Prompts are just suggestions. Feel free to write from your own inspirations!
Better Call Saul Any character (Jimmy, Kim, Howard and Chuck nominated)
From the signup: This show is so great, and every time I re-watch it I feel that warm New Mexico sun. I really liked the co-dependent and sometimes poisonous relationship between Jimmy and Chuck, and then toward the end of the series we found out so much about Hamlin and how Chuck treats him...and I liked Kim from the first too. Just. Everyone. I LOVE EVERYONE IN THIS BAR OKAY. Any of the un-nommed characters from BCS are welcome too, especially Nacho.
I'd love to see more about Jimmy's post-Slippin' Jimmy pre-lawyer days, and how any of the other characters related to Jimmy during that time. Alternately, future speculation or 'what's going on while this series goes on' information is fun too. We know how Jimmy ends, mostly, but the journey is endlessly fascinating to me.
What I thought of after I signed up: Nothing yet but I'll update as I think of things. :D
Fargo (2014). Characters: Mr. Wrench and Mr. Numbers
From the signup: I literally loved these guys from their first scene. Their obvious trust, the way they worked together. Mr. Wrench was my favorite, but their partnership was really what sold me. Anything set before the series would be sublime--I'd love to see them working an earlier 'case' together--but I'd also be fine with what happened to Mr. Wrench after he snuck out of that hospital. Bonus points for incorporating their method of talking around people who don't know ASL (or maybe stumbling across someone who does know ASL).
What I thought of after I signed up: I binged Fargo this fall and immediately hoped it would land in Yuletide so I could ask for Wrench and Numbers. (Their first scene, for anyone interested.) I love the attention that was paid to these two, from the percussive beats of their theme to the fact that they coached Adam Goldberg in sign language (though apparently he's still kind of...eccentric in his signing!). I don't always enjoy watching amoral hit men, but when I do, I like watching guys like Wrench and Numbers.
iZombie, Ravi Chakrabarti
From the signup:Ravi is my number one favorite guy on TV right now, no contest. I ship him with Peyton and Major a little (and could probably be convinced to buy hatesex with Blaine), but mostly I just love his sweetness and geekiness and the whole 'fired from the CDC' thing.
Young Ravi in medical school would be pretty awesome, or his life as the friendly crackpot at the CDC. Alternately, sweet shippy stuff (or flat-out porn with Major, especially after tripping together on Utopium) would also be just fine.
What I thought of after I signed up: I hope you like Jaeger bombs and homoeroticism.
Unbeatable Squirrel Girl Doreen and Tippy-Toe
From the signup: Another I LOVE EVERYONE IN THIS BAR canon, but Squirrel Girl and Tippy-Toe are essential. Goofy adventure? Serious adventure? Just hanging out in the dorm or elsewhere on campus? It's all right with me, man, and feel free to include other SG characters in the party. Just remember your acorns.
Note: I am reading in trades so please don't include spoilers past volume 2 (issue 8).
What I thought of after I signed up: What I really love about Squirrel Girl is the humor. It doesn't have to be exactly the same as the comic--I know that can be tricky--but I love the lighthearted tone and how indomitable and positive Doreen/Squirrel Girl is.
