It's all about Watanuki. Which isn't to say that I think they don't love each other at all. I think they definitely do, but it just might necessarily not be romantic. But I think it's something they both decided to do because they were already spending their lives dedicated to helping him anyway, and if they wanted to do that as long as he was in the shop . . . they'd need kids for that.

I wrote Doumeki/Watanuki for Springkink before the last chapter came out, and my original draft was that Doumeki was getting married so someone could take care of Watanuki, and I rejected it because OH MY GOD THAT WOULD BE SO DIRE AND EMO AND NO. And then...I kind of suspect that CLAMP went ahead and did just that. IDEK. I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS, OKAY. ♥
