Well, I did it.
Now I just have to wait for him to come. And think about outfits.
Don't worry, I'll cut most of my creepy doll posts.
Probably.

Not that I've spent the afternoon tormenting MC with all the shiny websites or anything. ^.^
(why so hard to find any boy dolls that are smiling? Boy dolls should get to be happy too~~)

I haven't seen many smiling girl dolls, even! I think it's easy to get Uncanny Valley in smiling dolls if you're not careful. I have an old bisque doll that was my great-great aunt's and was like The Popular Girl Doll of that era...and her smile is kinda creepy, lol.

YES that kept me from buying one for almost a year, which is pretty impressive for someone with my low impulse control...

(My ball-jointed doll is an antique inherited from my grandmother. All of her internal strings are disintegrated, which means her joints are floppy and she hangs in her display-case like a dead body that's past rigor; and best of all, her eyes have fallen back into their sockets; I had to tie a blue ribbon around her face because I kept getting disturbed by her empty black sockets staring back at me.
...I will see your creepy BJDs and raise you one, dammit!)

I have an old bisque doll that's an antique; my grandmother actually paid a good amount to have her restored for me when I was a kid. Her eyes had done the same thing! They had to re-stick them in, with the little weight dealio that let them open and close.
