Nathan is awesome (as always) and I like his friendship with Kotetsu. But I really like that you've written him friends with Tomoe too, because it makes a lot of sense. And he would have given her such good shopping tips.
And Gimli! All solid and wanting to ground himself. I like him digging his fingers into the soil. ^.^ I'm glad he gets to find the Glittering Caves- all the beautiful rock formations and gems and things to explore.
