I can get a sense of where Barnaby's meant to be coming from, and yeah, his reactions towards the end of the episode made a lot more sense for his character than the happy-pod-person of non-revenge Barnaby in 14 and the beginning of 15. I think the uneven emotional dynamic is hitting bad buttons for me, though, I don't want to end up feeling like Kotetsu should be protected from Barnaby's all-take-and-no-give.
Really, really hoping that Barnaby learns how to be an actual partner.
