In case you're wondering about what I like in general, this is basically what I stick on every Yuletide letter:
Here are some things I like: Humor, drama, snark, romance, smiling in the face of absurdity. (You can probably tell from my requests.)
Here are some things I don't like: Character bashing/needless sideswipes at characters, noncon. I read some dubcon but am weirdly fussy about it, so if you don't already know me it'd probably be easiest not to write it.
I am agnostic about porn: if you want to write it, great! If you don't want to write it, great! I have indicated pairings in my requests where I have them but I like gen too. (In fact, Yuletide is one of my favorite places to get my gen fic.) Porn preferences lean toward m/m.
I love friendship, found families, and all the fandoms I nominated.
Prompts are just suggestions. Feel free to write from your own inspirations!
I notice that I have more prompts for some canons than others, but that literally has nothing to do with how much I love them, and more to do with me wanting to sign up for Yuletide before the deadline. I picked four things I really love and would love to have stories for.
Midnighter (New 52)
Character: Midnighter
Prompt: Full disclosure: I never wanted Midnighter in the main DC universe, but then Grayson and Midnighter hit me with a one-two punch, and I am at least mostly converted. Watching Midnighter flirt with/harass Dick Grayson was everything I never knew I wanted. But honestly, I enjoy Midnighter flirting with just about anyone.
I've been reading in trades, so while I know some of the broad-stroke spoilers for the end of Midnighter, I haven't read it yet. So while spoiling me in the big picture sense is fine, I'd prefer not to be spoiled for any of the little details of the end of the series.
I am an old-school Midnighter/Apollo shipper but Midnighter has chemistry with damn near everyone, doesn't he? Midnighter/Dick is fine, I really liked Jason while he lasted, one night stand...surprise me. Surprise him!
Options: Midnighter gets laid.
Midnighter and Dick on a mission.
Midnighter doing the right thing in the most violent and ridiculous possible way.
Nimona
Characters: Nimona, Ballister Blackheart
Prompt: Nimona! I just discovered this in book form, rather than the original webcomic, and fell completely in love with Nimona, Blackheart, and poor Ambrosius, who got all the perks of heroism but almost lost everything else good in the process. I requested Nimona and Ballister specifically, but if a story works better with any combination of those three I will be happy, or even a solo story with Nimona or Ballister. I ship Ballister/Ambrosius like crazy, but you don't need to lean in on that.
Options: A reunion with Nimona some years down the line.
How Nimona chose Blackheart.
Blackheart and Ambrosius following each others' careers and pretending to not really care.
Blackheart learning to work with Dr. Blitzmeyer. (Does she ever figure out his name? Does she even care?)
Stand Still, Stay Silent
Character: Lalli Hotakainen
Prompt: I love the beauty of SSSS and the way the landscape (and its assorted beasties) is as important to the story as the characters are. I also love every single one of the characters. I only requested Lalli because he is my favorite, but please feel free to incorporate as many other characters as you want. I really love the whole cast and the way they interact with one another; sometimes prickly, sometimes affectionate, sometimes affectionate while prickly.
Lalli is sharp-eyed and quick and no-nonsense and his frustration at the language barrier he's dealing with broke my heart a chapter or so back. And I like cats, what can I say? I do ship him with Emil but in a 'they'd be cute' kind of way rather than a ship I'd go down with. (Sometimes I flirt with the idea of Emil/Lalli/Reynir. IDK, man.)
You can go light-hearted or dark with this, though I'd prefer no deathfic. But something spooky or creepy would be fine.
Options:
What happens if there's a storm in the cattank? Does everyone just get on each others' nerves?
Magespace. What is it? What does it do? Let's find out! Maybe Lalli and Reynir end up working together there.
Futurefic, especially something five or ten years out when, maybe, there will be some results from what our brave crew has learned.
What was mage training like for Lalli? Did Onni help with it? Were they adorkable together?
Tiger & Bunny
Character: Nathan Seymour | Fire Emblem
Prompt: Gosh, I love Nathan. And Tiger and Bunny. Really, the whole cast is great, but I asked for Nathan because he's ended up being one of my favorites over the years. I just love his attitude toward life, and his love for his 'girls' and his friends and Antonio's nice butt. (It's a very nice butt.)
You can focus on Nathan or bring in anyone else on the team. I kind of like him with Antonio or Keith, but I also kind of like the thought of Nathan just kind of pulling in whatever hot thing strikes his fancy. (Kind of like Midnighter at the beginning of his New52 solo series, actually...there's a pattern, huh.)
Options:
Superhero-ing! Any kind of adventure would be cool.
How does Nathan balance his career with his superhero life? What are his employees like?
Nathan and Kotetsu go back, and I'd love to know what their first impressions were of each other.
