As all my WIPs have stalled, it's time for a meme:
The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request a drabble of any pairing/character of their choosing from me. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level. If you absolutely can't write, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to offer drawings or icons or something instead.
Consolidating comments at Dreamwidth for obvious reasons; also, I wanted to see how it worked.
EDIT: I should have said-- if you don't want an OpenID, you can always post anonymously with your handle.

Date: 2009-04-25 06:53 pm (UTC)I am not entirely sure this counts as pre-slash.
Date: 2009-04-26 04:40 pm (UTC)Did you think that would be enough? taunted the voice in his head.
"No," Hisoka panted. He was still on his knees; he should stand up. He tightened his grip on the knife.
The blood-drenched corpse before him shuddered, fought for breath. "How many times," Muraki said, surprisingly coherent through his wrecked lips, "are you going to do this, boy?"
"I don't know," Hisoka rejoined, standing finally. "Until it works."
Muraki's eye-- slitted, inhuman-- regarded him. "Perhaps you will," he said.

"You shouldn't let him touch you," Nagi snapped. "Much less do any damage."
"Kurosaki will think I'm vulnerable now." Mamoru let Nagi pull his Ascot loose. "It's a tiny bruise."
"It's half your arm," Nagi rejoined, though he was less angry now.
"Well worth it."
"I'll break his arm." Nagi's mood was definitely improving.
"Nagi-kun--"
"It'll look like an accident," he said, smiling a bit to himself and pulling Mamoru closer. "Promise."

I CAN DO THAT
Date: 2009-04-26 06:34 pm (UTC)"I should check on the new brood," Gwendal said, climbing off the ladder.
There were ten baby birds in all, huddled together, heads stretching up for food.
"Your parents will come back soon," Yozak reassured them, smiling. They peeped at him impatiently.
"They will..."
"Yeah, they should make it now," Yokak said.
"I'll bring Greta up to name them," Gwendal said, finally allowing himself a bit of a smile.
"That'd be good." Yozak took a chick carefully from the nest and held it out.
Gwendal hesitated, then reached out to gently stroke its head.

Date: 2009-04-26 01:34 am (UTC)O rite, and i haven't had any problems with crossposting. I just had to ticky TWO boxes on the update page instead of one. Not. That things necessarily work in sense-making or universal ways here yet.

Drabble and a half, because I am a big cheater
Date: 2009-04-26 07:29 pm (UTC)Omi looked up from the monitor, his eyes sharp. "What?"
"Sunnydale University requires...paperwork."
Omi snorted.
"What?"
Ken grinned. "Omi can do paperwork." He looked between them both. "That is right?" he added quickly in Japanese. He'd been practicing English since he'd arrived, but his conversational skills were still shaky.
"They were...quite adamant about the amount of paperwork needed," Francescu said, still slightly concerned. "The young lady mentioned an official seal."
Omi leaned back in his chair, his fingers still on the keyboard. "When you cast the spell that made our apartment twice as big from the inside as the outside, did we give you funny looks?"
"Nope!" Ken said cheerfully. His comprehension was getting quite good.
Omi winked at him. "It will be in the mail tomorrow," he said, hitting the 'return' key. "'Official seal' and all."

Date: 2009-04-26 11:17 pm (UTC)"Goku's been concerned about your mood," Hakkai said cheerfully, as he and Yaone set up the little table. "Yaone-san makes a wonderful herbal remedy...."
"I'm sure she does," Sanzo snorted. Still, getting them to leave would take more energy than trying it.
"You assholes," he panted an hour later, when the truth sank in.
"Now, Sanzo," Hakkai murmured, his face deceptively vulnerable without his glasses, "your mood has improved."
"It was a fucking aprodisiac!"
"Technically," Yaone protested, and damned if those breasts weren't perky, "those qualities are a side effect...."
You think Sanzo is thinking what's in my icon? >D

Date: 2009-04-28 11:15 pm (UTC)Blessed nicotine filled Sanzo's lungs; he reluctantly blew the smoke out. "What?"
"Hakkai says the stars are real old. Older than me, even."
"So they say." Sanzo adjusted his robes and sat down.
"Some of them might even be dead by now."
Sanzo took another drag. Goku rested his head against Sanzo's thigh.
"You think we're like that? We keep going after the light goes out?"
"Does it matter?"
Goku looked over at him, his eyes catching gold in the moonlight.
"Yeah," he said. "I think it does."

Date: 2009-05-31 01:30 am (UTC)"Hey." The girl leaned in over his shoulder. "Got a second?"
"Um," Gojyo said, looking back at her and realizing he wasn't quite sure she was a girl after all, though she was wearing a slinky blue dress. "I dunno. Why?"
"Something you might be interested in."
She turned out to be a he, but the pretty blond hair looked natural, and the smile was genuine. So, it seemed, was the information slipped into Gojyo's palm.
"Why are you--"
"We gotta stick together," the blond murmured in his ear.
"What--"
He touched Gojyo's hair. "Mazoku for me," he explained. "You're youkai, right?"
Gojyo nodded. Mazoku? "Didn't think--"
"Long story. His Majesty's magic went a little..." He shrugged. "It'll work out. Figured I'd keep busy."
"So..." Gojyo looked at Yozak's leg, peeking through the slit in the dress. "You busy now?"
"Don't have to be."

Date: 2009-05-31 10:18 pm (UTC)"She's hot," Mike sighed.
"Of course you think so. She's a Badass Normal." Don grabbed at the popcorn.
"Badass Normal?" Raph frowned.
"Like in TV Tropes."
"Do we hafta cut your Internet access again?"
Don sighed. "She's the kind of character who doesn't have superpowers or magic, but still kicks butt. And need I remind you that if it wasn't for the Internet, we wouldn't be watching this?"
"Yeah, yeah," Raph said. "So what, like Casey's a Badass Normal?"
"If Casey fit any definition of 'normal,' yes."

Date: 2009-12-24 07:53 pm (UTC)"Watson," Holmes said, drawing his lanky frame upward from his usual slouch to meet his friend's gaze, "I believe you are well aware of the importance of research to my studies. And I know you realize that even the most esoteric studies can bear fruit in a case."
"Well aware indeed," Watson agreed. "But are you, Holmes, aware that while you research, our beloved housekeeper is quietly writing her letter of resignation? The Amatory Experiences of a Surgeon is no doubt wholly educational, but reading it under her nose is discomfiting to the poor woman, to say the least, and taking obvious and copious notes merely adds insult to injury. Can you spare her sensibilites just this once?"
Holmes sighed and put the book down. "Fine," he said. "The things I do to please you both."
Of course, Watson reflected as Watson reshelved his current project, the truly discomfiting fact was that Holmes really did read such works for research.
