Welcome aboard the Starship AWESOME.

I have absolutely loved the meme that's going around with Marvel heroes, the cast of Star Trek, etc. recast. But you know what? I don't wanna recast. I want to make my own AWESOME Star Trek show. The AWESOMEST EVER. Check it out! (And please forgive me my names. I suck so hard at names.)

Gina Torres as Captain Jaime Griffin. No-nonsense, smart, and runs an airtight ship. Her crew generally adores her. And is slightly afraid of her. AS THEY SHOULD BE.

Christina Hendricks as First Officer Sarish Talia, a Bajoran who takes her duties (and life in general) a bit less seriously than her Captain, and the one person who can get Captain Griffith to relax and have fun once in a while. They have SISTERHOOD that might be a little bit more-than-friendly. LIKE BROMANCE ONLY BETTER.

RJ Mitte as Kevin Hernandez, the young, idealistic communications officer. A genius at langages, his puppylike enthusiasm can be too much at times. He has chosen not to take the ST-Universe treatment for his mild cerebal palsy because he doesn't consider it worth the side effects. He has a huge crush on the pilot, but who doesn't as she's...

Dichen Lachman as Bhuti Namatjira, shy, geeky, and total BFFs with the navigator--

Aldis Hodge as Tim Uhura. As outgoing as Bhuti is shy, a quick thinker, if sometimes too impulsive. (He's Nyota Uhura's grand-nephew.)
When the crew isn't feeling well physically, they go to:

Lynda Carter as Dr. Carla. SHE'S WONDER WOMAN. DO I REALLY NEED TO SAY MORE? OH FINE she's kind of a mentor to everyone, but don't think that means she's a pushover. (She's one-quarter Vulcan on her mother's side; her surname is Vulcan and thus Not Given In This Post. And no, I don't think I've ever felt sillier than when I was googling "Vulcan family names," thanks for asking.)
Their counselor is:

Adam Beach as Counselor Adam Hunter, the only member of the main cast born and raised on Earth. Deeply proud of his Ojibwa heritage; speaks Anishinaabe in addition to French and English, and loves to help Hernandez practice.
Last but not least, the Chief Engineer:

Margaret Cho HELL YES as Serena Han, the Best. Engineer. EVER. She yells a lot, but it's really because SHE LOVES. Well, most of the time. Sometimes she just yells because she's pissed. Or because the person she was yelling at really deserved it.
The bad part of this meme? I can't cast COOL UNKNOWNS because, you know, they're unknown. And also, the cast suddenly seems really small and I want about ten more actors on this damn ship. AT LEAST.
