"Making deals with demons" is a trope? I mean, sure, Faust and its progeny, but a fic trope, like sex pollen and hypothermia?

I'm not sure hc_bingo is so much about tropes as it is about interesting themes.

...having said that, I have at least two fandoms that qualify, two more if you count Yami and Saiyuki. So there's that.

Oh, believe me, I wasn't objecting. I was only surprised, in that one of these things is not like the others way. Perhaps especially since it's not a scenario I exactly associate with hurt/comfort.

But then, one reason I don't have a bingo card of my own is that I expect I would find a way to make every single square on the card fluffy and cheerful, despite any effort I could make at doing otherwise.

I actually got into a big and rather stupid argument with someone that yes, tentacles should be included as a square - I sort of like the ridiculous ones.

...I would kind of like to see that.

Not clear on the concept!bingo? In a purely theoretical sense I find I like the idea. But to do it properly, I suppose we'd want to have someone collecting bingo-card forms for all flavors, and to issue the appropriate type to anyone who wanted to turn the prompts into the opposite emotional flavor. I wonder whether there's an existing curtain!fic bingo?

. . . what this all really reminds me of is a meta fic I didn't write for Yuletide a couple of years ago, in which Hera, Athena, Artemis, Aphrodite, and Persephone were all writing fic for each other, which is why in the end there are any number of versions of what happens to Helen. And why there are still ship wars over Achilles/Briesis versus Achilles/Patroclus.

My understanding is that hc_bingo is more about writing prompts than 'you must write all the h/c!' which is probably why I do better with it than I ever did at kink bingo, as I am notorious about writing prompts from the wrong perspective.
