The Same Watari As Always

The problem, dear artist or writer, is I'm so damn new to this fandom I really am at the 'but anything would be great!!' stage. I do have some ideas below and I'll add more if/as I think of them. I'm basically a multi-shipper who likes all the characters (though JJ is crazy annoying and Yuri's fury at him gives me life).

I called YoI my happy place in my sign-up and that is the truth, but I will note I am more than happy with angst and pining and drama. I just don't want any stories with a hopeless or tragic ending. And no killing Grandpa Plisetsky!

I do not care how anyone's name is spelled as long as I can tell who's Piletsky and who's Katsuki. I've mostly called Yuri Plisetsky Yurio in my requests, etc, for no real reason beyond 'it's easier to tell the names apart if I slip and call Katsuki Yuri by mistake.'

I am much more on the Phichit/Yuuri 'friends with benefits' train than the romance train. Though go crazy with the OT3 if you want.

I like that Phichit and Yuuri have five years of history behind them, and it's canon that Yuuri trusts Phichit above all the other skaters. Pre-canon fooling around or post- and during-canon shenanigans would be fine. Sex chicken. Rewards for skating well. Getting drunk and cheerfully fooling around. Maybe Victor wants to kiss the bronze.

Phichit is so sweetly nice to people I'd love to see him alone with Yurio, who gets so delightfully thrown by people who are genuinely nice.

Phichit trying to talk Yuri into his vision of the Greatest Ice Show Ever, In Thailand!!! Phichit trying to cheer Yuri up after an injury. Yuri and Phichit are both competing in America and Phichit decides to play Helpful Tour Guide. Maybe it turns out that Phichit likes cats just as much as he likes hamsters.

Yuuko's encouragement of Yurio was one of my favorite things about YoI. It shed some light on both of their characters. How long do they keep in touch? Do they just talk abut skating? Does Yuri ask after the triplets?

Yuuri and the Detroit Hockey Team

I think Yuuri and the Red Wings (or whatever fictional hockey team you decide is in YoI Detroit) pretty much explains itself. I'm for enthusiastic consent. Or just some hilarious flirting if you don't want to write porn. Maybe Yuuri cuts a deal for more ice time?

Victor Nikiforov & Nikolai Plisetsky

Victor and Yurio's grandpa--they had to have met each other at some point! Do they get along? What do they think of each other? I am endlessly curious about all the skaters' lives before canon begins.

Yuri Plisetsky/Kurosaki Hisoka (Yami no Matsuei)

...sooo I have this weakness for angry blondes I guess?

Anyway, there are no psychic powers in YoI but what if there were and what if Yuri noticed Hisoka at work? Or maybe Hisoka just ends up having to investigate or find a soul from some wacky ice-skating-related death, and they run into each other that way.

If anyone breaks up for these pairings to happen, I'd like the heartbreak to be over at the start of the story and for whoever to remain friends (so if you do futurefic with Yuuri/Phichit, everyone is still on good terms with Victor, that sort of thing).

DNWs: No smut with anyone younger than Plisetsky is at the start of canon. No non-con/dubcon. No infidelity (open relationships are fine), no MPREG or a/b/o. I'd prefer no trans* headcanons for these characters. Don't kill Yurio or Grandpa Plisetsky (or anyone!) to get him to meet Hisoka, please. YoI is my happy place.
